Taylor Woodings is committed to supporting the Australian rugby community by sponsoring the grass roots rugby clubs of Randwick in Sydney, Palmyra in Perth, Melbourne and now Souths in Brisbane, as well as rugby on the world stage.

Following on from the success of last year’s rugby tipping competition, the team at Taylor Woodings and I, Adam Freier (yes, that’s me in the picture), are excited to host the 2012 Super Rugby Tipping Competition.

Since last season, plenty has happened. The All Blacks finally won another world cup, Australia remains at outright second in the IRB rankings and a few stars have left their clubs to become ‘Melbournians’. It also appears that Sonny Bill Williams may actually play at more clubs than Slim Dusty, with him signing on with The Chiefs of Waikato for 2012.

The 2012 Super Rugby Tipping Competition is going to be bigger than ever and you are invited to join in the fun!

With over $2,000 worth of cash and signed jerseys up for grabs throughout the competition, the battle to find the Taylor Woodings 2012 Rugby Tipping Champion is going to be challenging.

We know that there are many rugby fans out there so feel free to forward this on to colleagues and friends who may be interested in getting involved.

PRIZES UP FOR GRABS
We are following the traditional tipping prize format, which needs to be explained just in case there are any Rugby League supporters in the Taylor Woodings fraternity.

National Prizes
First past the post, which is not usually any of us front rowers, wins $1,000, second $500, third $300 and the tipster finishing 2nd last will win $200 (all cash prizes).

At Taylor Woodings, no one is a loser. So the tipster who finishes in last place will be given a special prize.

State Prizes
As a major prize, each Super 15 Rugby franchise state winner (that being the first past the post in your state) will win a signed jersey from their respective states, e.g. Waratahs jersey for NSW, Rebels jersey for VIC etc.

I will be updating you each week with the latest scores, exciting news and of course plenty of rugby gossip, humour or niggle from inside the huddle in our Super 15 Rugby teams.

WE JUST LOVE RUGBY
We know rugby fans like getting together and talking about rugby. Taylor Woodings and I will be organising a range of social gatherings where you will have the opportunity to meet some of your home Super Rugby stars and the Taylor Woodings team throughout the season.
The Taylor Woodings tipping community will encourage responsible social networking, interacting with members and keeping you updated with the latest gossip and events through:

• Our section of The Wall message board on FootyTips.com.au. This will be a great opportunity to tell me how to play rugby. It will also be opportunity for me to find out where referees get all their insight from.
• Our weekly newsletter from the Taylor Woodings team and I. This extremely powerful document should be treated with the utmost integrity and confidentiality. Especially with photos like that one.

THERE IS ALWAYS FINE PRINT

• Only one registration per person. We know there were some crafty people last year who tried to hedge their bets. Be warned, if you do try this you will be removed from the competition … just like last year. Cheating is not endorsed, like the good old days, anyone cheating at the bottom of the ruck will be slippered, here is no different;
• The main “Pick the Winner” game tipping will be hosted via a Taylor Woodings section of the FootyTips.com.au website;
• Once logged onto FootyTips.com.au site you can add your preferred ‘Alias’, that being your tipping name. This year I am thinking of logging on as Queensland Reds prophet Ewen McKenzie. Not sure why, he just can’t seem to do anything wrong at the moment;
• We also recommend you tick the box to receive pre-game reminders to enter your tips;
• “Pick the Winner” game tips can be entered progressively during the tournament but need to be entered as per FootyTips.com.au cut-off, which is usually the Friday before the first game. Please take note that New Zealand is a bit in front of us so you need to get them in early; and
• The FootyTips.com.au element of the Taylor Woodings 2012 Super 15 Rugby Tipping Competition will be based solely on the results from that site and are therefore subject to the FootyTips.com.au site’s Scoring Guide, which all punters are encouraged to read.
