Ben Swindells, Eric Bennett, Kyle Hutchinson, Aidan Ismail, Ben Syme and Kelan Jones spent the day at RugbyWA headquarters today enjoying the Western Force training facilities. The boys started with drills with the Force players then continued on with the development officers. This was followed up with lunch, a tour of the new facilities and a classroom session on nutrition and physical fitness. They were given guidelines on how to progress to become a Western Force player.
The boys recovered in the spa then it was on to positional training and a meet and greet with all the Force players who were starting their afternoon training session.
Palmyra already has a presence at the Western Force with players James Stannard, Salesi Manu and Elvis Taione playing for Palmyra in 2012 when not on Force duties. Palmyra Premier Grade player Jake Ball is in the Force extended player squad and Palmyra U18's Oscar Backhouse, Chad Ramsamy and Nicholas Ward are in the RugbyWA Academy program which trains five days each week at RugbyWA HQ.
After the taste of what is possible, I'm sure the boys who enjoyed their time as a 'Force Player for the Day' would love to follow in the footsteps of these Palmyra players.
