The Palmyra Rugby Union Club is saddened by the loss of one of its valued Life Members and club stalwarts in George Pratt.

George starting playing with the Palmyra Club in 1940 and went on to play 144 First Grade games between then and when he retired from playing in 1956.

George was described as a very fearless light weight player and was noted for his inspirational tackling in a feature article in the West Australian.

In true Palmyra spirit George was not only a highly respected player but he served the Club and his teammates in the capacity of Secretary between the years of 1951 and 1956. George was later awarded the honour of becoming a Life Member of the Palmyra Rugby Union Club in recognition of his distinguished service to the Club.

The Palmyra RUC Committee offers its sincere condolences to George's family and our best wished go with you during this difficult time.

A toast or two to George will no doubt be offered during the 2012 season at Tompkins Park when other club stalwarts come togther.
